Abbotsford Police have unveiled a very unique Christmas card this holiday season - one to be sent to the city's worst felons.  The card, with Abbotsford's cheif of police dressed as santa with additional tactical gear and rifle, warns the regions felons about staying off the "naughty list" in the coming 2013 year. 

 

While it may be a bit shocking, Abbotsford police say that the card will hopefully serve as a wake-up call for some of the region's criminals to start making choices leading them to a less risky lifestyle.  Under Police Cheif Bob Rich, Abbotsford has seen a 40% crime rate drop over the past 4 years, and he hopes this message will help that trend for the coming new year.  The card also will include contact numbers for a help line which can provide resources for making life changes. 

 

The card will be mailed out to the region's most prolific known criminals, including "property offenders and former gangsters."   While the program will hopefully help reduce the incidence of crime in the Metro Vancouver Area, we still feel that having professional security services for your business or home is still one of the best deterrents to crime.
